Epoxy builds thickness and bonds well but cures slowly and can yellow in sunlight. Polyaspartic cures in hours, stays UV-stable, and handles Montana's temperature swings better. We typically use epoxy as a base where build matters and polyaspartic as the topcoat — the best of both.

Not if the concrete is prepped correctly. Coatings peel when they're applied over acid-etched or dirty concrete. For most basements, either beats carpet or laminate, which trap moisture against the slab. We moisture-test the slab first: if vapor readings are high we install a coating system with an epoxy vapor barrier; if the slab is dry and you want the lowest-maintenance option, polished concrete never peels because there's no coating at all.
